Job Description

Full-Time & Part-Time positions available

This position is responsible for carrying out day to day activities throughout the facility based on customer needs and wants. They will work closely with Direct Support Professionals (DSP) and Day Programming Coordinator to ensure proper care and safety of individuals. The 1972 Associate will facilitate and assist with activities at 1972 for individuals with disabilities.

Education Requirements

Behavior Clinician

Job Description

Responsible for supervising, planning and implementation of behavioral services for assigned waiver individuals in Residential Services, Adult Day Services, and Manufacturing Services. Must carry a minimum caseload for Behavior Management Services. Meets budgetary and clinical objectives for all services. As a Behavior Clinician (BC), shall be responsible for provision of behavioral support services for appropriate waivers. Includes working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and their team, parents or guardians to develop and ensure proper implementation of behavior support plans. The BC will be responsible for instructing direct support staff in the effective implementation of the individuals' behavior support plan in accordance with KCARC policies/procedures, plus any applicable state and federal regulations. Ensures that all professional services provide optimal growth for the individuals served, is based on a person centered philosophy, meets all state/federal requirements, and preserves each individual’s dignity and self-worth. This position requires an individual who can act independently and make decisions without supervision or prior approval.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, school psychology, or another applied health service area of psychology, special education, social work, or counseling; or be a licensed marriage and family therapist, licensed clinical social worker, licensed mental health counselor, or have a master’s degree in a human services field and be able to demonstrate to state behavior management committee that the applicant has coursework in or five years of experience in devising, implementing and monitoring behavior support plans.

Three years of experience supporting people with developmental disabilities.

Music Therapist

Job Description

Our Music Therapist position is a full-time position located in our Residential Division.  

The Music Therapist position will develop and implement a systematic application of music in the treatment of physiological and psychosocial aspects of a participant’s disability. Focus on the acquisition of non-musical skills and behaviors will be a key element in the program for the participants.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy, Music Education or related field is required and the successful candidate will be required to maintain certification by the National Association of Music Therapists.

Packing and Clipping Associate

Job Description

The Packing and Clipping Associate is full-time, first shift hours (ending at 3:30 p.m. most days) with occasional overtime and flex schedules required. Position is located in our manufacturing plant in Loogootee, Indiana.

This position will be responsible for inspecting finished product for flaws and/or defects, clipping all loose threads from finished products, select supplies such as stamps and tags for products according to contract requirement, folding and packaging products in accordance with work instruction and maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. Applicant should also have the ability to lift 50 pounds frequently.

Execute prescribed PT/OT therapy for individuals served as well as sensory diet needs as requested. Provide staff on the job training and other required trainings around physical therapy, occupational therapy and sensory diets. Utilize and maintain necessary equipment used for PT/OT/Sensory.

Production Worker 2

Job Description

Production Worker 2 positions are full-time, working day shift hours (ending at 3:30 p.m. most days) with occasional overtime and flex schedules required. The positions are in our wood and metal shop in Vincennes, Indiana.

This position will be required to work with wood working tools including but not limited to pneumatic and manual hammers, saws, hoist, planer, and drills, to build pallets, crates tables and other wood products. Employee will be adequately trained to perform required tasks in a timely manner and of acceptable quality and be expected to lift 50 pounds independently and 100 pounds with assistance.

Education Requirements

A High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Previous experience in wood working is a plus.

SFC & SGL Quality Living Coordinator

Job Description

The SFC & SGL Quality Living Coordinator position is full-time, working day shift hours with after hours availability needed.  This position is in Residential Services division in Vincennes, Indiana.

The Coordinator will participate in all aspects of participant admissions, transfers, and discharges for SFC and SGL participants.   This position will also participate in the development of SGL IPP’s, BSP’s, as well as coordination and roll out of all plans.  They are responsible for gathering all information needed to attend and actively participate in the meetings.  This position will oversee the operation of KCARC’s Residential Group Homes in accordance with all state, federal, and agency regulations and policies.  The Coordinator will ensure each home operates within the three guiding principles of good health, leisure activities, and participant choice.

Education Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Social Services preferred. Must be working towards a B.S. in an acceptable field. Experience working with persons with developmental disabilities and physical disabilities required. Applicant must also have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
