Program Assurance Specialist

The Program Assurance Specialist will provide oversight to assigned waiver sites at KCARC. This position will ensure health, safety, and welfare of each program participant by assuring appropriate programming.

This employee will also perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms and reports, as needed, provide staff retraining as directed by Residential Services Coordinator, assist the Consultant Dietician in completing residential nutritional assessments annually, within 30 days of admission, and on an as-needed basis.  Record and submit dietary/nutritional status in quarterly progress notes. Develop menus, with assistance of the Consulting Dietician, for assigned waiver homes, work closely with 1972 Dietary Manager, KCARC Speech Therapist, and KCARC nurse to complete an initial dietary assessment and develop an appropriate dining plan on all new residential SGL or CIH waiver program participants.

Education/Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required. Experience in working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. The employee must be able to perform the essential duties of this job.  Be able to frequently lift 75 pounds independently and over 75 pounds with assistance. Maintain reliable transportation available for use during working hours, valid driver’s license and provide proof of automobile liability coverage.

Residential Services Coordinator

Job Description

The Residential Services Coordinator will oversee the operation of KCARC's Residential Homes in accordance with all state, federal and agency regulations and policies. This position will also ensure each home operates within the three guiding principles of good health, leisure activities and participant's choice.

Education Requirements

A High School Diploma or equivalent and experience working with individuals with developmental and physical disabilities is required. Bachelor's Degree in Education or Social Services preferred. Must be working toward a B.S. in an acceptable field.

Teacher Assistant - Full-Time

Job Description

The Teacher Assistant position is a full-time position working Monday through Friday in our Civitan Children’s Center in Vincennes.

KCARC Civitan Children's Center is an ISO 9001:2015 certified, NAEYC accredited early childhood education facility teaching students from 12 months to 5 years. Our special education program is under the instruction of a licensed Special Education Teacher. With opportunities for advancement into a teaching career, Civitan Children's Center trains applicants to become active members of our classrooms by assisting teachers and students.

This position will assist the classroom teacher in maintaining a developmentally appropriate and language-rich classroom environment. This role also requires keeping the classroom teacher, the Director of Children’s Services and all other children’s services staff informed of any issues, problems or concerns that arise. You will also provide close supervision of students at all times by keeping all students within sight and sound and ensuring attendance clipboard is present and accurate at all times. This position is also responsible for assisting with food program duties, providing leadership and classroom management during the teacher’s absence and all other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements

This position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent required. Successful candidate will be required to obtain their CDA, CPR and First Aid certifications and must possess a strong desire to work with children. Lifting, bending, cleaning, sitting and repetitive motion required.

Music Therapist

Job Description

Our Music Therapist position is a full-time position located in our Residential Division.  

The Music Therapist position will develop and implement a systematic application of music in the treatment of physiological and psychosocial aspects of a participant’s disability. Focus on the acquisition of non-musical skills and behaviors will be a key element in the program for the participants.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy, Music Education or related field is required and the successful candidate will be required to maintain certification by the National Association of Music Therapists.

Behavior Clinician

Job Description

Responsible for supervising, planning, monitoring and implementation of behavioral services for assigned waiver individuals in Residential Services, Adult Day Services, and Manufacturing Services. Must carry a minimum caseload for Behavior Management Services. Meets budgetary and clinical objectives for all services. As a Behavior Clinician (BC), shall be responsible for provision of behavioral support services for appropriate waivers. Includes working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and their team, parents or guardians to develop and ensure proper implementation of behavior support plans. The BC will be responsible for instructing direct support staff in the effective implementation of the individuals' behavior support plan in accordance with KCARC policies/procedures, plus any applicable state and federal regulations. Ensures that all professional services provide optimal growth for the individuals served, is based on a person centered philosophy, meets all state/federal requirements, and preserves each individual’s dignity and self-worth. This position requires an individual who can act independently and make decisions without supervision or prior approval.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, school psychology, or another applied health service area of psychology, special education, social work, or counseling; or be a licensed marriage and family therapist, licensed clinical social worker, licensed mental health counselor, or have a master’s degree in a human services field and be able to demonstrate to state behavior management committee that the applicant has coursework in or five years of experience in devising, implementing and monitoring behavior support plans. TheBehavior Clinician position will also require a Board Certified BehaviorAnalyst (BCBA) license and will supervise the Registered Behavior Technicians(RBT).
