Teacher

Job description

KCARC's Classroom Teacher position works, Monday through Friday, 7am to 3pm, and is located at our Civitan Children’s Center.

KCARC Civitan Children's Center is an ISO 9001:2015 certified, NAEYC accredited early childhood education facility teaching students from 12 months to 5 years. Our special education program is under the instruction of a licensed Special Education Teacher. With opportunities for advancement into a teaching career, Civitan Children's Center trains applicants to become active members of our classrooms by assisting teachers and students.

The Classroom Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing and supervising all areas with his/her designated classroom in a manner which is reflective of KCARC's mission. Teacher is responsible for attending IEP meetings and modifying lesson plans as needed to meet the needs of all children. Classroom Teacher must be able to direct assists and manage multiple tasks at one time.

Education Requirements

This position requires a degree and Indiana certification in Special Education is preferred. Experience working with children, other educations that will be considered are CDA, or degree in education.

Other Requirements

This position requires staff to alternate from a sitting position to a standing position frequently. Repetitive motion required. Lifting, bending, twisting, and turning are other frequent movements.

The Teacher Assistant position is a full-time position working Monday through Friday in our Civitan Children’s Center in Vincennes.

This position is also responsible for assisting with food program duties, providing leadership and classroom management during the teacher’s absence and all other duties as assigned.

Production Worker 2

Job Description

Production Worker 2 positions are full-time, working day shift hours (ending at 3:30 p.m. most days) with occasional overtime and flex schedules required. The positions are in our wood and metal shop in Vincennes, Indiana.

This position will be required to work with wood working tools including but not limited to pneumatic and manual hammers, saws, hoist, planer, and drills, to build pallets, crates tables and other wood products. Employee will be adequately trained to perform required tasks in a timely manner and of acceptable quality and be expected to lift 50 pounds independently and 100 pounds with assistance.

Education Requirements

A High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Previous experience in wood working is a preferred, but not required.
