Assistant Secretary

Job Description

This full-time position is located in our Plant 2 Sewing Department located in Vincennes, Indiana, and will be working Monday through Friday, 7am to 3:30pm. (Overtime hours 6am to 4:30pm).

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing Secretarial duties for the Manufacturing Manager and other production departments. This position will also provide support to the Clipping & Packing Department when necessary.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. Ability to communicate well, self-motivated and ability to work within a team environment or individually. Should have a flexible schedule to meet demands of the department.

Extensive experience in maintenance work, including knowledge of all faucets and construction. Lifting up to 75 pounds is required as well as use of power and hand tools. Teacher

Job description

KCARC's Classroom Teacher position works, Monday through Friday, 7am to 3pm, and is located at our Civitan Children’s Center.

KCARC Civitan Children's Center is an ISO 9001:2015 certified, NAEYC accredited early childhood education facility teaching students from 12 months to 5 years. Our special education program is under the instruction of a licensed Special Education Teacher. With opportunities for advancement into a teaching career, Civitan Children's Center trains applicants to become active members of our classrooms by assisting teachers and students.

The Classroom Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing and supervising all areas with his/her designated classroom in a manner which is reflective of KCARC's mission. Teacher is responsible for attending IEP meetings and modifying lesson plans as needed to meet the needs of all children. Classroom Teacher must be able to direct assists and manage multiple tasks at one time.

Education Requirements

This position requires a degree and Indiana certification in Special Education is preferred. Experience working with children, other educations that will be considered are CDA, or degree in education.

Other Requirements

This position requires staff to alternate from a sitting position to a standing position frequently. Repetitive motion required. Lifting, bending, twisting, and turning are other frequent movements.

The Teacher Assistant position is a full-time position working Monday through Friday in our Civitan Children’s Center in Vincennes.

This position will assist the classroom teacher in maintaining a developmentally appropriate and language-rich classroom environment. This role also requires keeping the classroom teacher, the Director of Children’s Services and all other children’s services staff informed of any issues, problems or concerns that arise. You will also provide close supervision of students at all times by keeping all students within sight and sound and ensuring attendance clipboard is present and accurate at all times. This position is also responsible for assisting with food program duties, providing leadership and classroom management during the teacher’s absence and all other duties as assigned.

Production Worker 2

Job Description

Production Worker 2 positions are full-time, working day shift hours (ending at 3:30 p.m. most days) with occasional overtime and flex schedules required. The positions are in our wood and metal shop in Vincennes, Indiana.

This position will be required to work with wood working tools including but not limited to pneumatic and manual hammers, saws, hoist, planer, and drills, to build pallets, crates tables and other wood products. Employee will be adequately trained to perform required tasks in a timely manner and of acceptable quality and be expected to lift 50 pounds independently and 100 pounds with assistance.

Education Requirements

A High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Previous experience in wood working is a preferred, but not required.

Music Therapist

Job Description

Our Music Therapist position is a full-time position located in our Residential Division.  

The Music Therapist position will develop and implement a systematic application of music in the treatment of physiological and psychosocial aspects of a participant’s disability. Focus on the acquisition of non-musical skills and behaviors will be a key element in the program for the participants.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy, Music Education or related field is required and the successful candidate will be required to maintain certification by the National Association of Music Therapists.

Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Evening & Overnight Hours

Job Description

The Direct Support Professional position is available in full and part-time positions.  

This position is responsible for helping promote and provide self-help skills to individuals assigned to them. They also help provide direct care to the individuals, and assist in the development and implementation of training and leisure activities.  This role can take place in our Adult Day Program, Life Services Instructional Program, Residential Living Program or our Respite Care Program.

Education Requirements

A High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred and previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred, but not required. Lifting, bending, twisting will be required. Applicant must have a valid driver’s license, insurance and clean driving record.

Behavior Clinician

Job Description

Responsible for supervising, planning, monitoring and implementation of behavioral services for assigned waiver individuals in Residential Services, Adult Day Services, and Manufacturing Services. Must carry a minimum caseload for Behavior Management Services. Meets budgetary and clinical objectives for all services. As a Behavior Clinician (BC), shall be responsible for provision of behavioral support services for appropriate waivers. Includes working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and their team, parents or guardians to develop and ensure proper implementation of behavior support plans. The BC will be responsible for instructing direct support staff in the effective implementation of the individuals' behavior support plan in accordance with KCARC policies/procedures, plus any applicable state and federal regulations. Ensures that all professional services provide optimal growth for the individuals served, is based on a person centered philosophy, meets all state/federal requirements, and preserves each individual’s dignity and self-worth. This position requires an individual who can act independently and make decisions without supervision or prior approval.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, school psychology, or another applied health service area of psychology, special education, social work, or counseling; or be a licensed marriage and family therapist, licensed clinical social worker, licensed mental health counselor, or have a master’s degree in a human services field and be able to demonstrate to state behavior management committee that the applicant has coursework in or five years of experience in devising, implementing and monitoring behavior support plans.

Three years of experience supporting people with developmental disabilities.
